There are many agents that have major concerns about the next few years in real estate.
We all know that interest rates are high, gas prices are through the roof, talks of recession and inflation that no one can deny. Based on these conditions, I feel it’s normal that there will be some fallout amongst agents.
But, will it be the market shift that causes agents to fail or will it be a lack of personal shifts that causes failure?
I have coached agents through many market shifts and I have never seen a real estate shift be the cause of one’s failure. I am sure someone will argue my point but please be open to hearing my logic. Even though the market may shift, there will still be between 5-6 million sales in our country. There will still be plenty of sales, yet the agents that are closing those sales will shift. Newer, less experienced agents will have a tougher time than agents with a proven track record. This happens every shift.
If you’re a new agent then you may want to explore getting a coach. Agent Success Academy would be a great start.
If you’re a seasoned agent, you will want to get back to the basics.
Why Do Some Agents Fail During A Shift?
They fail to shift their conversations
They fail to create new habits
They fail to start new routines
Why Do Some Agents Thrive During A Shift?
They adapt their conversations to the new market
They adopt daily lead generation habits.
They change their routine to match their goals.
If you feel I’m over simplifying the conversation, I get it. But, it is simple…it is us, the agents that over complicate the shift.
In the end, the only thing that causes an agent to fail is lack of action.
Step 1: You must be aware of the shift
Step 2: You must accept the market has shifted
Step 3: You must take action now!
Follow these 3 steps and you will avoid the pitfalls of a real estate market shift.
